Let's take a sneak peek at Apple's Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" and take a tour of some of the new stuff.

Mac App Store

Yes, an App Store will be built right into Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" allowing users to download free/paid-for apps just like on the iPhone and the iPad. One-click install, one-click update, just like apps on the iPhone and iPad.

One really neat feature is that you'll be able to downlaod and install these apps on every Mac you own. That makes these a sweet deal for those with more than one system.

Hey, but you Snow Leopard users need not worry - this is coming to your OS within 90 days!

Launchpad

This new feature gives you instant and easy access to all your apps (downloads and physical installs) just like on the iPad. Tap the Launchpad icon and open applications fade into the background, allowing you to flip through pages of apps.

You'll also be able to organize your apps into folder ... something that you'll be able to do on the iPad come the next OS update.

Full-Screen Apps

Yes, Apple is making apps full-screen, allowing users a more immersive experience, and also making better use of screen real-estate.

Mission Control

Here is a new feature that brings the power of Exposé, Spaces, Dashboard, and full-screen apps all into one place. Mission Control will give you the ability to see open windows grouped by app, thumbnails of full-screen apps, Dashboard, and even other Spaces, arranged in a single unified view.
