in brief Macquarie Bank has expanded its IT portfolio with the purchase of a 20 percent stake in Australia's largest Internet kiosk chain, Everywhere Internet.

Macquarie is also providing debt funding to the company, which plans to have operations in all capital cities in three years. The deal has been settled for an undisclosed sum.

Currently, Everywhere Internet operates 20 outlets in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Australia's largest Internet café on Castlereagh Street in Sydney's CBD.

While the company owns most of its 20 outlets at the moment, it plans to open up to franchisees in the near future.
