Global IT consultancy firm and services provider Mahindra Satyam has placed Edward "Ted" Pretty as its non-executive chairman today.
Pretty has been brought on to help drive the strategy for Mahindra Satyam and its IT-outsourcing branch, Tech Mahindra.
His background is expected to help build both companies in the areas of network engineering and operations, business intelligence, cloud and mobility, all of which will be supported by Pretty's history in related companies. Pretty previously served as chairman to Fujitsu Australia, an executive director at Macquarie Group, the managing director of Telstra's retail arm and partner at Gilbert and Tobin, and he also currently holds a non-executive director position with NextDC.
He is also expected to assist the organisation in its expansion plans for Australia and New Zealand.
Pretty said that he is proud to join Mahindra Satyam.
"It will be my objective to ensure that our clients see and experience the business benefits that Mahindra Satyam Tech Mahindra technology and processes can deliver across the IT&T, financial services, industrial, e-government and health sectors in particular," he said.
