Maplin, the electronics specialist with 196 stores across UK and Ireland has launched its social store and gives geeks a great 'in page' experience.
My favourite geeky multi-channel electronics store Maplin has launched its new social store. Now you can purchase whatever electronic components you like -- without leaving Facebook. Maplin sells over 15,000 products so you will probably find the widget (or snow shovel) you want online.
Most pages on Facebook do not offer an 'in page' shopping experience. You can see the store front from Facebook. If you want to buy something, or need further information then you are redirected outside of Facebook to complete the transaction on the brand site.
Innovators such as Delta have an in page experience to buy flights. If you are in the US, you can purchase your ticket from within the Facebook app itself.
With the Maplin Social Store Facebook app you can search the entire Maplin product range and purchase directly using PayPal.
Search and share your recommendations. Personalise searches and recommend products to your Facebook friends. You can do your shopping without leaving Facebook -- or ask your friends to buy the item for you.
Of course the more time you spend on Facebook, the more ads you are likely to see. Even on brand pages.
So social shopping is certainly the way to ease online buying -- and keep you connected to your peers who would love to know where you bought that fold away snow shovel!
