This week on the Dan & David Show, David gives a recap of Mashup Camp 3 and we discuss how software APIs and platforms are evolving, with the Internet as a kind of operating system. it's still in an embryonic phase, but the stage is set for a big shift into the loosely coupled software world. We also discuss Sun's efforts to attack Red Hat with Solaris 10, offering less costly support programs and easier migration, but how the company is stumbling out of the blocks. We also touch on the launch of Vista, and whether a Windows operating system os a big deal anymore, and we look into salesforce.com's on demand platform and Apex Code, which will allow developers to write new applications directly to the company's servers. Finally, David has some words on Skyhook Wireless, problems with Google "Office" and how the iPhone demonstrates Apple's unique business model.
