In 1977 men worked an average of 47 hours a week, women worked an average of 39 hours a week. By 2002 the numbers are at 49 hours a week for men and 43.5 hours a week for women. In 1992 50% of the respondents said they do not spend enough time with their spouses, in 2002 63% of respondents agreed with the statement. However, access to flexible work hours changed - only 29% of respondents could work flexible hours in 1992, while by 2002 the ratio rose ro 43%.
