Microsoft Corp. confirmed that it served subpoenas on Feb. 15 to America Online Inc., Sun Microsystems Inc. and Netscape Communications Corp. requesting more information on the pending purchase of Netscape by AOL which was announced last November.

The subpoenas require representatives from the three companies to be deposed in Washington on Feb. 25 by lawyers from Microsoft's law firm Sullivan and Cromwell. Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson told the Department of Justice to produce the documentation on the deal in December and again in January.
