Mobiquity podcast: Holiday gift ideas for the mobile lifestyle

It's that time of year when people are looking for some great last minute gift ideas and this morning I ran across a holiday gift idea webinar from my long-time friend Joel Evans that I wanted to share with readers.

Joel and Gene Signorini, VP, Mobile Insights at Mobiquity, spend about an hour talking about booms and busts in the mobile space along with their favorite picks for devices and applications. I enjoyed listening to the show, you can also watch the video, and hearing their opinions on devices I have used and reviewed over the last few months.

I disagree with their take on smartwatches though and think the Pebble is clearly the current leader and is definitely a device I would recommend as a gift this holiday season. I would also liked to have heard more about their picks for the best smartphone.

Joel gave me my start in the online writing world back in 2001 over at where I was the PDAGeek. I was then able to have him join me here on ZDNet Mobile Gadgeteer, but he was too busy with other jobs to write often and departed in March .

Joel and I tried for years to get a podcast going at and then here on ZDNet, but something always seemed to get in the way. It's great to hear him now sharing his mobile experiences over at Mobiquity and I look forward to hearing more.
