One of the most notable additions in version 3.2 is the ability to create multiple Energy Consumption Profiles. That means network or systems administrators can group different desktops or computers together according to department, location, user group type and so on, in order to manage them more specifically through the Faronics Core Console. The update also includes wake-on-LAN so that remote computers (even those on a subnet) can be switched on or off according to specified parameters via a Web browser. The software's audit mode now also includes reports that displayed projected annual savings in power consumption according to ongoing usage metrics.
