Motorola Card modems climb from 28.8 to 33.6

Motorola today raised its PC Card modem speed to 33,600bps and will offer a free software upgrade to current 28,800bps modem users.

The 33,600bps PC Card modem (£185 + VAT) is aimed at European business travelers, and will run 15 per cent faster than 28,800bps modems said Motorola. It will offer a free upgrade to PCMCIA 28.8 Pro users in 21 countries, which will work with telephone systems in 15 countries, according to the firm.

The modem features an eight-language interactive manual, automatic configuration in different European countries and diagnostic software.

The software upgrade will be available on disk or from Motorola's Web site.
