Motorola Droid X2 images, specs leaked; Tegra 2 CPU, 8MP camera

It's been a few months since we've had a Motorola Droid release (at least domestically), but now the Droid X2 has been spotted.

The exterior design isn't much of a departure from any other Droid we've seen, but here's a look at some of the specs:

  • Android 2.2
  • New Motoblur UI
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4.3-inch qHD LCD display (540 x 960 resolution)
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • FM Radio

The possibility of this smartphone launching (likely in Q2) with Froyo just feels wrong. Hopefully Motorola bumps that up to Gingerbread if it wants any shot at competing with every other handheld we've seen unveiled this year. It's also apparently a 3G-only device, which isn't the end of the world and might be reflected in a lower price tag.
