MS prices Visual Studio suite from £399

Microsoft will replay its application strategy with tools by lowballing prices for its Visual Studio 97 tools when they are bought together as a suite. Microsoft expects a street price of £809 (£399 upgrade) for the Visual Studio, Professional Edition suite and £1,189 (£809 upgrade) for the Enterprise Edition.

Microsoft will replay its application strategy with tools by lowballing prices for its Visual Studio 97 tools when they are bought together as a suite. Microsoft expects a street price of £809 (£399 upgrade) for the Visual Studio, Professional Edition suite and £1,189 (£809 upgrade) for the Enterprise Edition. Products should be available from mid-April.

Visual Studio 97 includes: Visual Basic 5.0, Visual C++ 5.0, Visual InterDev 1.0, Visual J++ 1.1, Visual FoxPro 5.0 and Microsoft Developer Network Library. Enterprise Editions of Visual Studio 97, Visual Basic 5.0 and Visual C++ 5.0 also include the Developer Edition of Microsoft Transaction Server 1.0, Developer Edition of Microsoft SQL Server 6.5, Visual SourceSafe 5.0, RDO 2.0 and Visual Database Tools. Further tools for Enterprise customers, including Visual Modeler, will be available for download when available.
