KUALA LUMPUR--Credit card holders from today can pay their bills online including utility, telco and insurance bills under a new service introduced by Citibank.

The service available via www.citibank.com.my is open to credit card holders of any bank and not just confined to Citibank credit cards.

In a statement, the bank said the service is free with no hidden costs.

The Citibank online bill payment service currently has 21 e-merchants under its umbrella including various municipal councils in the Klang Valley, the five mobile network operators in the country as well as insurance companies such as Aetna Universal and AMI Insurance.

Citibank director Allen Tan said the bank hopes to acquire 50 e-merchants by year-end and 25,000 users for this online service.
