I've magnified and cropped the image. Blurry I know but we are talking journalism here.

The same iPhone that won't be released until6 p.m. your local time on June 29. Two weeks from tomorrow.

OK so let's do some forensics on this here Flickr image.

Taken by frequent Flickr poster chasingfun, who, along with the guy in the photo is riding Caltrain. That's the commuter line between San Francisco and San Jose (as well as points south).

If you are wondering how chasingfun got that, um, money shot, keep in mind that most of Caltrain's fleet are double deckers. So plainly, chasing fun was doing just that from the upper deck, across the aisle from this iPhone user.

Some Flickr commenters seem to think this image is that of someone actually testing the iPhone in real-world conditions. And that those conditions are of a late afternoon or early evening train from San Francisco to points south. Given that Apple is based in Cupertino, and that Caltrain doesn't stop close by, and that route of the train, I would doubt that this is an Apple employee.

I am guessing this is an AT&T Wireless employee, probably testing.

What do you think?
