NAB customers woke this morning to find their accounts missing scheduled payments and transactions after a technology issue struck the bank overnight.

The issue has caused payments and transactions to and from customer accounts to stall. The NAB also warned customers that the delays may have an onflow effect onto its EFTPOS, ATM and electronic banking sevices.

NAB has advised that the issue is being investigated and that delayed payments are expected to be processed later today.

The bank informed ZDNet Australia that it is presently unaware of what had caused the issue.

The outage follows the bank's "unnamed" system outage in September.
