in brief National Australia Bank (NAB) is considering outsourcing some of its IT infrastructure to technology giant IBM.

NAB spokesman George Wright told ZDNet Australia today that the bank had been on the market for IT outsourcers, however a final announcement regarding selection had not yet been made.

Wright didn't provide any details on the potential outsourcing arrangement, however, the AustralianIT (which ran the report first) said that NAB's recent IT catastrophe delayed announcement of the deal.

Earlier this year, IBM re-signed a massive deal with Westpac worth approximately $2.3 billion.
