NAB is being tight lipped on the new concept branch, but ZDNet Australia can reveal that the bank is currently renovating the branch inside its Docklands, Melbourne, head office building. The Docklands head office precinct was originally unveiled by NAB in 2004, and can play host to 3500 of the bank's employees.

The bank said in a statement that the store would likely be completed in early 2012 and will sport a bevy of high-tech services and gadgets to help customers.

NAB's Docklands concept branch build is similar to the Commonwealth Bank's Brisbane flagship branch opened in March, which sports dedicated areas for different customer segments, as well as iPads, iMacs and touchscreen PCs, to help customers get their banking done.

NAB expects to show off a preview of the new concept branch in early December.
