Nathan Barley's magic hotzone

Via an interesting post on Absolute Gadget, I learned of BT and Fon's plan to distribute 1,000 routers in Shoreditch, East London. The idea, it seems, is to create what BT like to call a 'hotzone', or a mass of hotspots.

Or is it? I chased BT for comment for a day or two, before eventually being told that BT had no idea where AG's comments had come from, and they hadn't announced anything.

Yet.

"We are planning to do something in Shoreditch but it's too early to comment," a BT spokesperson told me. In other words, the story is probably pretty accurate, but wasn't supposed to have come out yet. More soon, no doubt...
