A Victorian company has been awarded a new contract with NBN Co that will see it deploy critical defect-management software to monitor the nation's largest infrastructure investment.

The contract, awarded to Geomatic Technologies (GT), will run for three years at a cost of several million dollars, Victorian ICT Minister Gordon Rich-Phillips announced today.

"GT will deliver an efficient, reliable and cost-effective solution to meet NBN Co's current and future quality-control requirements," Rich-Phillips said in a statement.

The contract will see Geomatic Technologies develop and implement a defect and maintenance system to support the ongoing audit and maintenance operations that go along with maintaining the National Broadband Network (NBN).

Director of Geomatic Technologies, Mark Judd, said that he is looking forward to the task.

"It validates our track record in delivering highly successful enterprise-mobility solutions, and we look forward to configuring our [fault-management] solution to specifically meet the needs of a project the size and scale of the NBN," he said.
