in brief The National Broadband Network Company (NBN Co) has selected a panel of recruiters charged with the job of adding 1000 new employees to the company over the next 12 months.

After accepting applications from over 300 different recruitment agencies, 17 recruitment companies that specialise in technical operations, construction, telco/IT, and corporate recruitment were selected. These includes BDS People, Charterhouse, Integrated, Skilled, Launch Recruitment, Data 3, Clarius, Paxus, Astrum, DFP and Vantage.

NBN Co's head of corporate services Kevin Brown said that as the construction of the $35.9 billion project ramps up, NBN Co needs to focus on specific skilled recruitments it needed to add to the company, which already employs over 700 people.

"As we shift from planning to constructing and operating the network our requirements increase and we expect to hire an additional 1000 employees over the next 12 months. Having a well-credentialed panel of experts complements our internal database of over 15,000 individuals who have applied to work at NBN Co," he said.
