Net Politics Focus: Internet bills up in the air
The US Senate last week recessed for its summer break, and the House will follow suit at the end of this week, with the fate of several key Internet bills still unknown.
Competing versions of an e-commerce tax ban are still pending in the House, along with a controversial online copyright bill that has already gained Senate approval. Meanwhile, a key Internet commerce report to President Clinton by White House officials, originally set for release by July 31, now appears delayed until Congress reconvenes in September.
