Netflix updates iOS app for iPad 3 Retina display, HD streaming coming soon

Summary:Netflix's latest iOS update brings higher-quality art along with a tease of HD streaming.

Like many other companies, Netflix is updating its iOS app to accommodate the improved visuals afforded by Apple's latest iPad. With the update come improvements like higher quality images, among less obvious things like bug fixes and various tweaks.

But perhaps the bigger news is that, with the update, Netflix is also teasing something that iPad owners have been waiting for: HD streaming. There's no indication of when the improved video quality will actually be available, however.

Another notable change with the update is that Netflix has finally removed the ability for streaming-only customers to see DVD-only titles. A bit overdue, the move should surprise exactly no one.
