3Com's NBX IP Telephony system is touted by the company as the industry's first IP-based PBX.

NBX has just been upgraded with several new features. The two most interesting to me in this new Version 5 are:

An Automatic Call Distribution System which can handle call routing for up to 199 call center agents, and;

Silent coaching of service reps by supervisors who want to whisper advice in their ear while talking to a customer. Called silent coaching because the caller doesn't hear the supervisor.

There's also enhanced support for the large-screen, 3Com 3103 Manager phone, the 3Com 3100 Entry Power over Ethernet IP phone, as well as for the the new 3Com 3106C and 3107C cordless IP phones.

Any of these phones, or these capabilities interest you? Would they work in your enterprise? TalkBack to us.
