Today at its FutureStack user conference, cloud application performance monitor New Relic announced that it has made its first acquisition.

The company is called Ducksboard, and it's a three-year-old Barcelona, Spain-based startup that makes a data visualization dashboard-making tool.

New Relic said Ducksboard's technnology will contribute to its own platform in two key ways. First it will allow New Relic to expand its integration with data from SaaS sources.

Second, New Relic said Ducksboard’s existing integrations with 65 applications, including Google Analytics, Twitter, MailChimp, Stripe, WordPress and Salesforce.com, will enable the company to offer its customers access to a more robust pool of data sources.

In the short term, New Relic said it plans to continue selling Ducksboard’s existing product and support its existing customers, including those in free trials. The eight-person Ducksboard team will remain in Barcelona, and the firm’s founders  — Diego Mariño, Jan Urbański, and Aitor Guevara — will join New Relic's product management and product engineering units.
