Sega's new Dreamcast console isn't just pleasing gamers, it's also giving a boost to UK microchip developer Imagination Technologies. The group's profits soared in the first half, largely due to royalty payments on PowerVR technology used in the console. Sega has sold more than one million units worldwide since Dreamcast's launch in September. Imagination had a loss of £378,000 in the six months to 30 September last year but first-half results this year showed a profit of £1.58m.
