It now seems only a matter of time before processing pretender AMD gives up the fight and becomes the latest casualty in a war of attrition in the low-end chip market that will surely leave Intel as the sole survivor.
Despite a gallant battle against the chip leviathon -- culminating in the launch of its much acclaimed 650MHz Athlon processor -- AMD must surely be readying its white flag following Monday's massive price cuts across Intel's Pentium II and III low-end processor ranges.
