News Burst: Lycos gaining on top portals

Lycos Network is inching closer to top ranked portal site AOL.com in audience ratings, according to US analyst Media Metrix Inc. Between August and November, Lycos' reach expanded from 40.3 percent to 45.2 percent, compared with AOL.com's 48.7 reach and second-ranked Yahoo!'s 48.0 reach.
