News Burst: Massive storage technology to be showcased

Will we soon be fitting 10GB on something the size of a credit card?

US-based Constellation 3D will release details Monday of its fluorescent multi-layer disk (FMD) technology which the company claims will result in DVD-sized disks capable of holding 100GB of data.

Constellation 3D believes the technology will be used in personal video recorders and third-generation mobile phones, as well as in credit-card sized devices capable of storing 10GB.
