Telco's moral crusade against paedophiles backfires

British telco Thus has cancelled its pledge to remove paedophile content from its newsgroups according to reports by Silicon.com Wednesday.

One week into its ambitious crackdown on Internet paedophiles, reports have branded the decision "unworkable", claiming that plans to take a more proactive approach in monitoring all of its newsgroups for illegal pornographic content are impossible.

Thus, owner of Demon Internet, has not denied the allegations but it is claiming to have removed 30 offending newsgroups since its announcement last week.
