A legal blow to Net Neutrality, the downfall of the iPad, Bebo's fate and a farewell to FourSquare lead today’s themes. You can get the day’s rolling postsvia Twitter,RSS, oremail.

Here are the key themes for Wednesday, April 7, 2010:

A federal appeals court ruling is being called the death of Net Neutrality. The ruling, in favor of Comcast, found that the Federal Communications Commission does not have the authority to require Comcast to treat all Internet traffic the same on its network.

When it comes to the iPad, shouldn't a cutting-edge device like that be unleashing the power of the mobile Web, instead of relying on a PC cable to sync it to iTunes or having to choose between 16-, 32-, or 64-gigabyte models? And then there's that price elasticity equation - $499 is one thing but as those prices jump to $699 for the 64-gig model and $130 more of 3G, buyers might have second thoughts.

And speaking of the iPad, with some competition in the works - notably the HP Slate - it looks like we've got the makings of a full-fledged mobile OS war on the horizon. Stay tuned.

It looks like the beginning of the end for AOL-owned Bebo, a big name in social networking in the U.K. but not much to speak of in the U.S. The company said the site will either be sold or shuttered because, quite frankly, it isn't worth the investment to take on the competition.

Despite some far-fetched rumors of Yahoo considering an acquisition of Foursquare, the location-based social site took a blow when ZDNet's own Jennfer Leggio - Ms. Social Network, herself - fessed up that she'd dumped FourSquare and had no regrets about it.
