Nike and Polar roll out WearLink+ heart rate monitor for Nike+ products

Summary:Nike and Polar have partnered together and announced the debut of the WearLink+ heart rate monitor, designed to be paired with the Nike+ SportBand and the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit.

Nike and Polar have partnered together to announce the release of the WearLink+ heart rate monitor, designed to be paired with the Nike+ SportBand and the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit.

The Polar WearLink+ is a soft textile strap, intended to be worn around the chest to transmit the user's heart rate wirelessly to a Nike+ iPod Sport Kit or SportBand.

Thankfully, the strap itself is machine-washable so sweat doesn't need to build up on it overtime. Just don't forget to remove the battery. Users will get feedback of their beats per minute (BPM) either on the SportBand or have it spoken to them from the iPod kit. Data can also be uploaded to nikeplus.com for further tracking and analysis.

Compatible with most Polar training computers and the fifth-generation iPod Nano, the Polar WearLink+ will become available in the U.S. first in June for $69.95, followed by Canada and Europe at the beginning of July.
