Nintendo is sending us some valentines. The game company has announced that it will start shipping and selling pastel pink and blue Wiimotes in the United States next year. When exactly? February 14.

So far the colorful controllers have only been available in Japan, and all we've had over on the other side of the Pacific is black and white options.

Maybe Nintendo hopes they'll make good "his and her gifts" for Valentine's Day. Or maybe they're taking the route of the iPod, and we'll see a whole spectrum of hues on the Nintendo devices in the future.

Each Wiimote will include a MotionPlus add-on accessory and a protective scratch resistant jacket.

There's no definite price yet, but it's expected to sell for about $40, or possibly more because of their special shades.
