Nintendo has gone all out for the 25th birthday of Super Mario Bros. by going Mario Paint on its Wii console and outfitting it in a special edition cherry red exterior.

Not only will the birthday bundle include a new Wii Remote Plus controller, but also a pre-loaded copy of Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Edition. This enhanced version of the timeless classic is different because all the gold brick spots where you'd jump to hit a coin now say "25."

Unfortunately, like everything else cool, this special anniversary-edition Nintendo Wii will only be available in Japan when it launches on November 11 for ¥20,000 ($243). Don't they understand how much we love Mario and friends stateside too? We'll just have to dust off our NES and SNES consoles to celebrate.
