Celebrity mixed with global warming generates heat. Only open in four theatres so far, Leonardo diCaprio's documentary, "11th Hour," is starting some buzz. So far only movie reviewers and people in L.A. and The Big Apple can get to the film.

The official film website lists more openings soon. Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seatlle and Washington D.C. have openings on August 24. Also eight Canadian cities. Then a week later the doc debuts in thirty smaller North American cities.

The film apparently tells you some very specific things to do, or not do. No more bottled water, says one reviewer. That's good. Your kidneys don't need anymore leached plastic anyway.

Here is a sampler of commentary on the doc so far: New York Times review L.A. Times feature L.A. Times review S.F. Chronicle review MSNBC review Huffington blog

The doc did $56,000 in four theatres last weekend. Modest but not bad apparently. As we blogged earlier Leonardo's serious about this environment thing.
