The wait for concrete details on Nintendo's upcoming Wii U is going to last a whole lot longer. Nintendo says it it has no plans to announce any specifics on the Wii U's price point and release date until next year.
"Since the Wii U we showed you at the E3 show in June was still in the development phase without very specific proposals on the software titles, we are going to announce the release date and the price next year when we are able to explain the specific proposals," said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during the company's most recent press briefing.
Previously, Nintendo confirmed that the Wii U would make its appearance after April 2012, but its clear from Iwata's comments that the comment isn't going to say much besides that anytime soon. But, judging by Nintendo's recent issues with the 3DS, let's just hope that the Wii U won't be too expensive.
