Nokia's new flagship, the Lumia 1020, will be coming to the UK later this year.

The 1020, unveiled in New York on Thursday, is the company's highest-end imaging phone to date, sporting a 41-megapixel sensor and professional image editing app.

While Nokia hasn't confirmed when the device will officially launch in Europe — saying only that "it will arrive in China and Western Europe this quarter" — mobile operator O2 told ZDNet it will stock the device in the UK from September.

Nokia has also promised an exclusive version of the device for Telefonica, the Spain-headquartered parent of O2.

Rival carrier Three has also said it will carry the 1020, saying the device will be available "later this year" on its LTE network. (Three its yet to launch its 4G, but it's expected to go live in the last quarter of this year.)

Neither operator has revealed how much the device will cost when it goes on sale. In the US, however, where the 1020 will be available on AT&T at the end of July, it will come with a price tag of $300 on top of a monthly tariff.

Reseller Carphone Warehouse has also put a page on its website where consumers can register interest in the 1020, which is also estimates will ship in September this year.
