Nook owners to get $100 in free books, study guides

Summary:Got a Nook and want some free books? Barnes and Noble has your deal.

Potential Nook owners have another reason to head towards the Barnes and Noble camp. Barnes and Noble is offering buyers of the Nook a dozen free classics as well as study guides as a part of its back-to-school promotion. The deal, which includes titles like Crime and Punishment, and The Portrait of the Artist As A Young Man runs until October 31st, and in B&N's conception, is worth $100. Of course, even if you ignore the fact that such titles are often available for free elsewhere, the deal still includes offerings like the Spark Notes companions to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Richard III - not to mention NOOK Study's 50 Survival Tips: How to Win at College. So maybe it's not the greatest deal. But free is free, right?
