Now my cloud is rolling

Unwittingly I step into the 21st century. I’m a thoroughly modern man, born into the swinging decade yet I have Android on my phone, I tweet when required and I’m always running the greatest and latest Ubuntu Linux.

Unwittingly I step into the 21st century. I’m a thoroughly modern man, born into the swinging decade yet I have Android on my phone, I tweet when required and I’m always running the greatest and latest Ubuntu Linux.

Another momentous step has also been taken, without me even realising. I have set up all of my new web sites to use Google Apps, because I find it so much easier to use Gmail than configure my own POP boxes. It’s also easier to set up IMAP, it’s easier to migrate web hosts, easier to access web mail, easier to add users and aliases.

In fact, I barely use the Thunderbird email client any more. The only time I did use it recently was on the Medium Speed Train into London, and that’s only because somebody missed a trick on this premium service and failed to add free wi-fi.

What tipped me over into the era of cloud computing though was sharing Google Docs with a client, specifically a to-do list that changes considerably day-to-day.

Whatever next? GDocs for Android anyone?!
