60 per cent of UK corporates use Windows 95, though half are reluctant to install it on all of their machines, according to a report issued by PC maker AST last week. The AST Barometer Survey of 200 companies revealed 43 per cent of the businesses installed the OS on an average of 20 per cent of their machines, but only three per cent ran the software on every desktop.

As for Windows NT, a quarter of corporates presently use it, but half of those asked plan to migrate totally or partially to NT in the next 12 months. Less than half plan to migrate totally or partially to Windows 95 within the same period.
