NTL hush hush over C&W deal
Cable & Wireless have reportedly given NTL exclusive rights to broker a take-over deal within a 21 month period, although NTL is keeping quiet over the reports just a week after it's deal with France Telecom.
Sources at NTL refuse to confirm that the much-anticipated take-over of the residential arm of Cable and Wireless Communications (CWC) will go ahead this week.
Despite persistant rumour-mongering in the national press concerning NTL's supposed £8bn take-over bid, the official line from NTL is still "no comment."
A NTL spokesperson said: "Our latest statement was that we are having exclusive talks with Cable and Wireless over their residential arm, but we are not revealing any statements yet."
