There is some hot news about the European nuclear industry. It could prove to be radioactive for the proponents of more nuclear-powered generating plants. From France--capital of nuc power--comes word that maybe all's not right with the "disposal" of long-lived nuclear waste. This makes the little coal ash mess in Tennessee look like a picnic. Critics say the new generation of nuc plants being built now in Europe create waste that is seven times as radioactive as the old variety of nuc waste. Meanwhile a new generation nuc plant is under construction in Finland. Way under construction. It was supposed to completed this year. Now it looks like maybe 2012. So the Finnish utility is suing French nuc firm Areva and German parts supplier Siemens. [poll id="85"]
