Does that modem stick to the wall?

Compaq is releasing two new USB modems as it cottons onto the idea that USB may, possibly, be a good move. The USB ISDN TA modem gives 128Kbps -- that's pretty speedy, and supports multiple protocols to ease connection.

The 56K USB fax modem offers fax transfers speeds of up 14.4 Kbps and includes software in 10 languages. Compaq is much prouder however of its 'fits anywhere' design, which lets you attach the modems to the wall or your monitor -- horizontally or vertically. Wow, now that's innovation guys!

The ISDN model costs £75 and the fax model £88 -- both available now.
