Heard a rumour about a plan for a new gadget or software? Seen a device on your travels you'd like to know more about? Tell 'Nuggets' and we'll get you the facts.

Cordless Desktop is Furby friendly

Wires, wires everywhere. Aren't they annoying? You can reduce your wire count with this neat kit from Logitech. The Cordless Desktop combines a cordless keyboard and cordless wheel mouse that can operate at up to six feet away - no idea what you'd be doing at that distance though. The keyboard works with any PC running Windows including NT. The units have multiple channels and secure linking between transmitters and receiver - which basically means that it won't interfere with your Furby.

The Cordless Desktop is available now at £89.99.

Olympus recording thingy does it digitally

The latest gadget from Olympus is a digital voice recorder with the rather dubious advantage of allowing you to send your voice by email. The D1000 is a pocket-sized device and records all words of wisdom as individual digital files, storing them on a miniature card with either 2MB or 4MB flash memory.

Using a PC card adapter card these voice files can then be transferred to your PC or laptop, allowing you to store, email or print them. Voice files are (occasionally) converted to text using IBM's ViaVoice Transcription software, though we wouldn't recommend you write a novel using this pair. A useful feature, if you do spend a lot of time recording memos and letters, is the editing system that allows you to cut and paste messages.

Available now for a ridiculous £299.99.
