Checking around the Web this weekend, there are a couple of reports -- unconfirmed by Microsoft officials, as far as I can tell -- that Office 2007 was released to manufacturing some time after Friday evening, and that Vista is set to RTM on November 8.

ActiveWin is reporting that Vista will go to PC makers on November 8, and that volume licensees will be able to get their hands on the product starting November 18.

Microsoft isn't publicly commenting on either report. But they're out there. (And the Vista November 8 RTM date has been circulating for a couple weeks, since the Vista RTM clock was reset in late October.)

It's been no secret that Vista and Office 2007 were due to RTM any day now, especially given that Microsoft set November 30 as the official business launch for those two products (as well as Exchange Server 2007, which is expected to RTM in December, according to sources). The Vista speech team reported over the weekend, for one, gave the thumbs-up on it part of the Vista release.

It sounds like it's going to be another big announcement week from Microsoft.
