Communications watchdog Oftel is holding a series of public meetings in Northern Ireland to allow consumers to comment on plans to scrap price controls on services offered by telecoms operators.

Oftel is reviewing the telecoms market to decide if price controls are needed when the controls expire in 2001.

The meeting, the second of its kind, will take place in Belfast at the Europa Hotel in Victoria Street. Further meetings will be held in Cardiff on 28 September and Birmingham on 7 October.
