There's a placeholder site up now for a new Microsoft Web site known as "TechNet Edge." A few Softies have been teasing about the existence of the site for the past couple of weeks.

On the edge of a Microsoft Channel 9 for IT pros?
I'm still not entirely sure what this thing is going to be. My guess? A Channel 9 (Microsoft's developer forum/site) -- but  for IT professionals. There are forums for threaded discussions and storage for media files of all types. Microsoft is encouraging participants to tag their content with words like "Terminal Services," "IIS," "Networking" and "Security." A tab at the top of the new site allows one-click access to the myriad TechNet TechCenters, which are hubs of white papers, downloads and information for IT pros on tens of Microsoft enterprise products.

With TechEd IT Forum slated for next week, it seems like the perfect launchpad for a TechNet Edge beta....
