SINGAPORE, 30 June 2000 -- eInfo-OnLine makes electronic information available via the internet. The online service is the result of a business partnership between two key industry players, leading IT service provider and e-architect, NCS and Kodak, a document imaging ccompany.

Users need only arm themselves with a web browser to take advantage of NCS' and Kodak's solutions offering that targets industries with a need to store and frequently access large amounts of documents.

eInfo-OnLine services a wide spectrum of users that include government bodies, legal and accounting firms; medical, education and financial institutions as well as those in the business of utilities, insurance and logistics.

Paper documents, microfilms, microfiches and other forms of photographic or graphical data is digitalised at Kodak's Imaging Center while NCS' internet data centre, Digit@l Centrix, provides storage hosting facilities for the digitalised data.

The launch of eInfo-OnLine follows closely behind an identical service offered in Hong Kong by Kodak, ImageOnLine, where it has users such as such as Jones Lang Laselle, State Street Bank, The Best and HKCWT in Hong Kong; Ansett Airfreight, TNT Express, Toll Transport, Department of Transport and Land Registry Victoria in Australia.

eInfo-OnLine enables companies to attain economies of scale with a low and variable cost structure. This online service does not require the customer to invest in hardware and software.

It cuts out the rental costs brought about by traditional physical storage space, human resources and maintenance costs. Customers need only monthly fees for document storage and retrieval.
