OpenLaszlo releases Beta 1 of "Legals" adding Ajax support

I just saw over on the OpenLaszlo blog that OpenLaszlo 4.0 Beta 1 is now available for download on the OpenLaszlo website. OpenLaszlo 4.0 is the official name for the "Legals" project which adds Ajax/DHTML into the available compile options for OpenLaszlo.

The ability to compile your code in either Flash 7 or DHTML is something that could prove to be very popular especially as Ajax and Flash continue to fight for mindshare (though Ajax wins right now). There is some good information in the release notes. Raju Bitter also has some thoughts.

I've always been a fan of the OpenLaszlo platform, and I think this is an excellent way to bring in Ajax developers. It also shows that OpenLaszlo is serious about supporting multiple runtimes and hopefully we'll see more of this as time goes on. Congrats to the Laszlo team.
