openSuSE 11.3 Milestone 6

Just a short note, before everyone goes into a feeding frenzy over the imminent Ubuntu release...

I noticed this morning that Milestone 6 for openSuSE 11.3 was available for download. They are not exactly doing a stellar job of meeting their published schedule on pre-releases, so the simplest thing to do is just have a look once in a while.

This is the first 11.3 Milestone that has loaded and run without problem on most of my laptop and netbook systems. If you are a SuSE fan, or are just interested in seeing where they are going with the next release, this could be a good time to try it. It includes Linux kernel 2.6.34 already, and X.org server 1.8.0, KDE 4.4.2, OpenOffice.org 3.2, Firefox 3.6.4, and plenty more.
