Oracle acquires LiveLOOK, bolsters its service cloud

Summary:LiveLOOK co-browsing technology is used to resolve customer issues through the web and mobile channels.

Oracle on Friday said it acquired LiveLOOK, a company that specializes in collaboration and screen-sharing technologies.

The move, which comes a day after Oracle reported disappointing fourth quarter results , highlights how Oracle has plans to be the No. 1 cloud company. LiveLOOK fills out Oracle's service cloud offerings.

LiveLOOK's co-browsing technology is used to resolve customer issues through the web and mobile channels. The returns revolve around less customer call handling time and costs. Oracle added that it has 100 customers using LiveLOOK already since it is integrated into the company's service cloud.

Going forward LiveLOOK's technology will be integrated directly into Oracle's cloud wares. LiveLOOK counts CapitalOne, Accenture and Match.com among its enterprise customers.
